As part of its partnership with the Centre de pédiatrie sociale Laval which was announced earlier this year, CDI College enthusiastically participated in the organization’s "All chances to childhood" guignolée which took place last Saturday.
The drive is at the heart of the annual fundraising campaign of the Centre de pédiatrie sociale Laval (CPSL) and its goal is to increase social pediatrics awareness and raise funds to help offer medical, psychosocial, therapeutic and educational services to children in the organization’s three offices in Laval.
For this occasion, Paula Lamarre, an instructor of the Early Childhood Education - JEE.13 program at the Laval campus, asked two talented friends to generously donate some of the handmade craft items they had created during this year’s lockdown.
Their beautiful knitted dolls and oil paintings were on display at the Laval campus on December 9 for students and employees to purchase. The campus raised $330, which was directly donated to the Centre de pédiatrie sociale Laval.
"It’s refreshing to see our employees working so hard to support a cause that is so close to our hearts at the Laval campus, " said Lara Bachaalani, Regional Director of Operations for CDI College. “Their enthusiasm is so infectious that they were able to get their friends to participate."
"I am convinced that the funds raised by CDI College and the other participants in this year’s guignolée will greatly help the Centre de pédiatrie sociale Laval’s mission and fulfill the needs of the children in Chomedey, Laval-des-Rapides and Pont-Viau," said Ms. Bachaalani.
