Calgary, AB – July 3, 2012 – CDI College is now offering a suite of IT programs at its Calgary North and Edmonton North campuses, including Network Systems Management, Network Systems Administrator, Network and Database Management and Computer Support Technician. Designed to work as stand-alone credentials, or in combination for a greater competitive edge, a diploma in IT puts graduates on the express track to one of the fastest growing industries in the world.

A recent poll of IT executives by Computerworld revealed companies will make significant investments in their IT workforce to bolster business in the years ahead. This means increased opportunities for graduates with the right mix of computer expertise and experience. At CDI College, students study the theory of computer systems and develop practical skills through hands-on training.

Imagine if all of the computers in an office crashed; the office would cease to function. With the Network Systems Administration program, students learn the skills to administer and maintain a computer network and prevent issues like this from happening. Students of the Computer Support Technician program focus on the planning and troubleshooting skills necessary to service computer systems and get their end users back up and running quickly.

The demand for system upgrades, IT security and transparency is driving the need for more IT workers, especially in the area of planning, design and implementation. With the Network Systems Management program, students study network design, implementation and management for businesses both large and small. The Network and Database Management diploma takes this a step further, focusing on relational databases and the extraction of business information.

As the IT sector continues to grow, industry and vendor certifications have become a benchmark used by employers in the hiring process. At CDI College, each of these programs builds on the last and prepares graduates for industry certification exams for Microsoft, CompTIA and Cisco.
