Edmonton North campus responds to increased demand for grads
Edmonton, AB – March 15, 2011 – Based on the high demand for trained massage therapists, CDI College has added two additional sessions of its popular Massage Therapy diploma program to the roster of courses being offered at the Edmonton North campus in May 2011.
The hands-on Massage Therapy program provides students with the fundamental knowledge and skills necessary to launch a career as a massage therapist. Students learn about massage theory and technique, clinical assessment, treatment massages, hydrotherapy and remedial exercise. They also study key subjects such as anatomy, physiology, kinesiology and pharmacology. The program covers ethics and communications as well.
In addition, the theoretical components are accompanied by numerous opportunities for practical application, both in class, during the clinical internship at the on-campus massage clinic and while under the supervision of a registered massage therapist during the mandatory clinical externship.
Upon completion of this program, graduates may find employment in a range of settings, including fitness clubs, rehabilitation centres, spas or private health clinics. They can also further their education in the Advanced Massage Therapy program and they are encouraged to apply for certification with the Alberta Association of Massage Therapists and Holistic Practitioners.
Applications are currently being accepted for the May 2011 start dates of Massage Therapy program at CDI College in Edmonton North. For more information, fill out the form on your right.
