Despite an uncertain economy and growing concern about job security, employment opportunities are growing faster in the province of Alberta than anywhere else in Canada, reports The Calgary Herald.
Analysts expect to see growing demand for qualified professionals in several fields, including nursing, financial services, public sector jobs and positions within the tourism industry. Due to these employment projections, there has never been a better time to enroll in healthcare and accountancy training with CDI College.
Data from Statistics Canada suggests that employment in Alberta has increased by 4.8 per cent since November of last year, creating more than 97,000 jobs. The province also has the lowest unemployment rate in Canada, at just 5 per cent.
"We are having the busiest year in the company's 38-year history," Shannon Bowen-Smed, president and chief executive officer of Bowen Workforce Solutions in Calgary, told the Herald.
Students who complete CDI College business training may also want to consider opportunities in other provinces due to their promising employment markets. The Winnipeg Free Press reports that according to a recent BMO Economics study, the employment sector in Manitoba is also expected to show signs of improvement in the coming months.
